Hehe, Friends is amazing! I’m the same with GG, I watched all the way up to the last season but, eh, I’m not missing the show to be honest :p I’m so excited for all the TV shows to come back this week!

Found you through my brother and you have some fine choices there but you still have a ways to go to be a real TV junkie!
I left a similar comment over at Scoop’s Mental Propaganda.
Jut to list in no particular context some of the best TV around this past year includes:
Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Pan-AM (a guilty pleasure), Castle, How I Met Your Mother, 2 Broke Girls, Two And A Half Men (it’s evolving fascination), Mike & Molly (datenight), House (miss Cuddy), NCIS (lots of stunt casting this season), NCIS LA, Body Of Proof, CSI Vegas, Modern Family, Happy Endings, psych (still too silly but evolving), Last Man Standing, Modern Family, Revenge, Grey’s Anatomy, Person Of Interest (just predict the conspiracies or 70’s homage), The Office, Parks And Recreation (Budget crisis and campaign), Rules Of Engagement, The Big Bang Theory (it’s geeky girls now), A Gifted Man, Chuck, Grimm, Supernatural, Sanctuary, Fringe, Boss, Insecurity, Michael Tuesdays & Thursdays, South Park, Black Mirror, The Fades, Misfits, Homeland, Boardwalk Empire, Spooks (or MI:5 as it’s called in North America), Bored To Death, Death Valley, Against The Wall, Alphas, Suits, White Collar, Franklin & Bash, Leverage, Terriers, and of course Community.
Yes I like to catch reruns of the occasional syndicated series like Friends, Seinfeld, Gilligan’s Island, Criminal Minds, Law & Order Criminal Intent (used to be original then SVU but I saw them too much), but I don’t go out of my way to catch them.
Glee, Terra Nova, Desperate Housewives, and Falling Skies are shows I liked in the beginning but like Prison Break became a “meh.” towards the end.
It’s been more than a year since the fresh Sherlock aired so I am waiting to savour the experience.
I am probably forgetting some like Little Mosque On The Prairie or Dan For Mayor but they wrapped in such a way to make you wonder if it was meant to be,
Are there shows you think I should be watching that you would recommend. Is there something I should drop? I would love to hear back from you on this.

Ha, I agree! Considering how many fantastic shows are out there, I know I’m missing out on a bunch (definitely a few of those you listed such as Breaking Bad, which I don’t know why I’ve been avoiding for forever along with Parks and Recreation). I do love how you included Suits and White Collar too– I never find that many people who watch those shows but I love them so much.

Hmm, I’ll admit the latest BBT season hasn’t impressed me much, as well as the last few episodes of Leverage but I’d probably stick it out and see if it’s worth it after the season is over. Have you ever tried Game of Thrones? I know it’s not for everyone but it surprised me that I liked it so much, plus the setting is done quite awesomely. And I’m not sure if you’ve watched Arrested Development before either, but I’d definitely recommend that! πŸ™‚ I hope you watch the new Sherlock episode soon, I’m seriously loving that show and the latest episode does not disappoint! Thank you for leaving such a nice, thoughtful comment on my newbie blog!!! πŸ˜€

Well I try to make time for Canadian made shows like the first season of Monk, not just Alphas, Suits, or Flashpoint (which got real boring after the first season). Game Of Throne is one of those show I know I need to be in the right frame of mind to watch and enjoy otherwise I just can’t get into it for a while which is what happened after the first episode. Got first season of Arrested Development on DVD for Christmas. Good Stuff. I turned my youngest brother onto Veronica Mars and bought him the DVD’s when they first came out. He had the complete Avatar the Last Air Bender and we marathoned it when the live action film came out. We are just over 500 dvds in the collection now including Complete Stargate SG-1, Buffy, Angel, Monty Python, to name a few. One show I am looking forward to is a modern western called Justified just going into the third season. It’s the third series based on Elmore Leonard’s works the others being Maximum Bob, and Karen Sisko which I would also highly recommend. I could probably spend all day listing TV shows that people should watch like The MiddleMan (another I got for Christmas) but that goes to my hypothesis that people collecting should act as programmers for life.
Upcoming series I am looking forward to include Alcatraz and Rob though Rob Schneider leaves me wary as does Sam Neill especially after Sam’s stint on Happy Town.
Cougar Town is so quirky you have to watch to see which car wreck it avoids in future. I detested Whitney and found New Girl tried too hard to hook me in that it totally tuned me away from it. Raising Hope just felt too trashy for me especially afte how it followed My Name Is Earl. Sort of the reverse of The Game which was fun to follow until it got to the end. Well it could be worse and we could end up comparing Storage Wars to Pawn Stars to American Pickers and the downfall of History in History TV though their William Shatner’s Weird or What does give credence to Marshal’s Enigma book in HIMYM.

David- I feel bad saying this but I’ve actually never really had much interest in the Canadian shows, I know! :/ Like the ones broadcasted on CBC I never really consider watching, despite hearing fabulous things about them. I do hope you like Arrested Development, I thought it was really great! Hahha hearing it from more than one person makes me feel like I ought to check out TLA… πŸ™‚

And 500 DVDs! That’s insane! *sends jealous stares* And I know, I don’t watch nearly as many shows as you but I feel like I could still talk about TV all day.

Ack, Rob Schneider is quite a hit-or-miss for me (more miss than hit) and haha I’ll admit I watch my fair share of Say Yes to the Dress, but I know what you mean with those shows you mentioned.

I’m so happy you started a tv/movie blog πŸ˜€ I can’t find any that have the same tastes as me, and there are so many awesome shows out there that I feel like I need to rave about haha. I just started watching Sherlock, and from your list I’m in LOVE with Game of Thrones, Modern Family, White Collar, Supernatural, Suits, Castle (Nathan and Beckett are so cute), Firefly (so glad that you loved it), and Gilmore Girls ❀

I'm not sure if you've tried them before but I also really recommend:

Veronica Mars (awesome tough-as-nails main character, teen noir detective show, starts off slow-ish but by the middle of the season I pretty much fell in love and marathoned the entire series in a few days lol)

Cougar Town (again, it has a bad premise at first but then it becomes an awesome ensemble of quirky characters like Friends, right now it's my favorite comedy with Modern Family)

Avatar: the last airbender: AMAZINGGG IN EVERY POSSIBLE WAY. The first season is alright but by the second season it's so epic.

Lone Star (lasted… two episodes. But they're good XD)

And for upcoming shows there's a really cool trailer for NBC's Awake on youtube (the main character is the actor for Lucius Malfoy haha). Yeah I'll stop typing all this pent up tv love in your comments now. Can't wait to read more of your posts!

Hahhaa I KNOW RIGHT?! I feel I always have something to mention after watching TV shows/movies, but I never really considered making a blog or anything, we’ll see where it goes. I seriously need to read the GoT books!! I saw you read them and loved the first ond πŸ™‚ And YES YES YES SHERLOCKKK <33 I've been dying to try Veronica Mars actually, I really like the idea of a kick-ass protag that doesn't annoy me or anything. To be honest, I've never considered Cougar Town but I have a feeling I might need to try it out (plus it's mentioned on Community which i loved, haha).

I'll be totally honest, "Avatar: THe Last Airbender" has NEVER appealed to me, LOL, maybe b/c I've heard atrocious things about TLA (the movie) and didn't really like Avatar, despite the fact that I doubt the two are that related :p

      I love the TV-love!! <333

NOOO the people who made the TLA movie adaptation completely bastardized the show’s material. The creators had nothing to do with that abomination thank god. I don’t even understand how they could ruin it so badly– they took all the humor out of the story, replaced any ethnic influences with nonsense scribbles, and even pronounced the characters’ names wrong. It’d be understandable for a book but pronouncing them wrong when a tv show exists where they say them out loud?! *facepalm*

And darn that James Cameron for giving Avatar a bad name with his Pocahontas rip-off… ;P It’s a really good show. The character development is something else, and there are so many hilarious moments XD

Linna- AAAH I’m beginning to sense that, because nowhere have I thought (or even considered) it to have humour! It all looked like a try-hard MG action movie (TLA movie, that is)… like Shark Boy and Lava Girl (or whatever that is, I know, I’m insulting a movie I really don’t know ANYTHING about). And omg them pronouncing the name wrong would just drive me mad. I just IMDB-ed the show, it actually looks good o.O Damn my prejudices!
